Due to an unfortunate error, equation (16) is wrong. The correct analytic expression of the rate coefficient [FORMULA] given in Fig. 4 is:


The suggestion given in the concluding remarks that the upper limit of the hydrogen density [FORMULA] is a fraction of [FORMULA] is no longer correct. To prevent complete collisional depolarization of the ground state of Na, the maximum value of [FORMULA] is a fraction of [FORMULA].
