1864 Daedalus
This Apollo asteroid has been classified as an SQ-type by Tholen
(1989). Its rotational period,
hours, has been determined by Gehrels et al.
(1971) and this object shows a large amplitude (0.85 mag) of the
lightcurve, which implies a very elongated shape. The estimated
diameter is about 3 km. No previous spectral information is available
on this asteroid and the spectrum we obtained (Fig. 3) shows a trend
similar to that of S-type asteroids. Anyway, in this case, as reported
in Fig. 3, there is a good match between the spectrum obtained and the
laboratory spectra of L4-type OC.
