NGC 488: has its massive bulge been built up by minor mergers?
Received 21 April 1997 / Accepted 21 July 1997
Using recent observations of the kinematics of the disk stars the dynamical state of the disk of NGC 488 is discussed. The disk is shown to be dynamically `cool', so that NGC 488 cannot have experienced many - even minor - mergers in the past.
